KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that from the end of this week there will be news and events that will have a “positive effect” on the issue of Ukraine’s membership in the EU.
Answering the question whether the Foreign Minister already knows the results of the European Commission’s assessment of the implementation of recommendations for the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU, Kuleba said that “he will not announce the results.”
“I will not announce the results, but I think that from the end of this week you will see events and news that will have a positive, let’s say, effect. The Ukrainian authorities worked to fulfill everything that was needed on our part. The President of Ukraine controlled this process,” Kuleba said during the telethon.
The Foreign Minister again recalled his words that if “there are no force majeure events,” then by the end of the year Ukraine will open negotiations on EU membership.
“This will be another historical moment. Another unprecedented historical moment. And now we are moving quite confidently towards this goal. I will not reveal the rest for now. Work continues at all levels, as they say,” he emphasized.
