KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Around 4,000 citizens of Ukraine have left Israel after the Hamas attack, Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk has said.
“The embassy has managed to evacuate 540 citizens. Around 4,000 citizens of Ukraine have left since the full-scale terrorist attack. Ben Gurion Airport works normally. Many foreign airlines refused to work, and that is exactly why people used those evacuation flights proposed by the embassy,” he said on air of the national telethon on Tuesday.
The diplomat noted that the citizens paid for tickets “in fact at their actual cost.” The tickets to evacuation charter flights cost EUR 415-399, and all of them were carried out to Romania.
Korniychuk also said that yesterday a family of six people was evacuated from Israel at the expense of philanthropists.
