Health Ministry denies info about alleged quarantine due to Hepatitis A outbreak

KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Health Ministry of Ukraine has denied information about the alleged quarantine due to an outbreak of Hepatitis A.

“This is a fake and a part of the enemy psychological operation. The Health Information will announce this on its official website and its pages in social networks,” it said on the Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to the ministry, Ukraine registered 281 cases of Hepatitis A in 2022, and 314 cases were registered over the nine months of 2023.

“An outbreak of Hepatitis A was registered only in Vinnytsia region. Hepatitis cases have been constantly registered in the territory of Ukraine. Most often, it is caused by violation of hygiene and sanitation rules: poorly washed hands, use or consumption of contaminated water,” it said.
