URCS, Veterans Affairs Ministry sign memorandum of cooperation

KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the Veterans Affairs Ministry of Ukraine have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

“The Veterans Affairs Ministry counts on the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in the implementation of the Veteran’s Assistant project and other important veterans policy directions,” the URCS message on Facebook quoted Ukrainian Minister for Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina as saying during a ceremony of signing the memorandum.

According to the minister, it is planned to extend the opportunities “of the veterans’ hotline” organized by the Ukrainian Veterans Foundation of the ministry.

In turn, Director General of the URCS National Committee Maksym Dotsenko emphasized that the signing of the memorandum allows to extend the existing cooperation between the URCS and the ministry.

“Our cooperation with the Veterans Affairs Ministry has been lasting for a long time and, after the signing of the memorandum, we are extending cooperation in the sphere of psychosocial support and rehabilitation of veterans n communities,” he said.

The URCS and the Veterans Affairs Ministry will prepare and implement joint projects and programs, in particular, for rehabilitation and education, for professional adaptation and support for single, unemployed veterans, as well as the implementation of an experimental project of the introduction of the institution of a veteran’s assistant in the system of transfer from military service to civilian life.
