Shmyhal: decentralization has been and remains relevant

KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that decentralization reform has been and remains relevant for Ukraine.

“Decentralization was and remains relevant. A full-scale war made adjustments to tactics, but did not change the strategy. This is a reform for the future, for many generations of Ukrainians,” Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel.

In his opinion, the wealth of communities will determine the pace and quality of restoration.

“We expect from communities the ability to create realistic projects and implement them, the ability to work with international partners and take what they offer, the ability to increase human capital. If a community is attractive to people, it will have a future,” the prime minister said.

In addition, an important aspect, according to Shmyhal, is community support for business.

“Priority: local programs for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, maximum deregulation, assistance in training and retraining of qualified personnel, promotion of local products to enter new markets,” he added.
