KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States and South Korea are concerned about the development of ties between Russia and the DPRK in the military sphere, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in Seoul on Thursday.
“We share profound concerns about the DPRK’s growing and dangerous military cooperation with Russia. We discussed further actions that our countries can take with partners to intensify pressure on Moscow not to transfer military technology to the DPRK,” he said at a joint press conference with his South Korean counterpart Park Jin.
“So we will keep working with the Republic of Korea, with other interested countries, to identify, to expose, and to counter Russia’s attempts to acquire military equipment from the DPRK and any state that is prepared to support its war against Ukraine,” Blinken added.
According to him, “when Korea is on the Security Council next year along with the United States, along with Japan, that will be another opportunity to focus on these concerns.”
In September, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited Primorye in particular in the Russian Federation, where, in particular, he visited the Knevichi airfield. He was presented with strategic aviation aircraft, the Tu-214 liner. Kim Jong Uun also visited the frigate of the Pacific Fleet Marshal Shaposhnikov, where he was shown the new armament of the ship.
