KYIV. Nov 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday during a video call congratulated Polish President Andrzej Duda on Independence Day.
“With all my heart I sincerely wish the Polish people that the independence of the Republic of Poland will always be unshakable and strong. The independence of Ukraine will always be a strong support for the freedom of Poland,” Zelenskyy said.
“Ukrainians will never lose gratitude to Poland for the fact that in the most difficult time, when Russia came to destroy our state, the Polish people helped Ukraine survive. I am grateful that Polish hearts felt the rhythm of Ukrainian hearts exactly when and in the way it was required,” the Ukrainian president also said.
According to Zelenskyy, “the unity of Europe, our common interest, can only be powerful when one of its foundations is the alliance between Ukrainian and Polish freedoms. When we are together in the European Union, and in NATO, and at all the main moments of our common history. Together we are at least twice as strong.”
“I’m glad that we are not alone on this path, and you are always with us,” he noted.
