KYIV. Nov 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba congratulated former British Prime Minister David Cameron on his appointment as a new foreign minister.
“Congratulations to David Cameron on his appointment as Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom. I am looking forward to working side by side to advance the Ukrainian-UK partnership, bring Ukraine’s victory closer, and restore peace and security on the European continent!” Kuleba said on X (Twitter).
The Minister also thanked outgoing James Cleverley for his efforts to mobilize worldwide support for Ukraine.
“Dear James Cleverly, it’s been a distinct pleasure working with you as Foreign Secretary. I appreciate your tireless efforts to mobilise worldwide support for Ukraine, and I am proud of the work we’ve done to strengthen our bilateral ties. I wish you every luck in your new post,” Kuleba noted.
Former British Prime Minister David Cameron has taken over as Foreign Minister, Downing Street reported on Monday.
Cameron is 57 years old, he headed the British government from 2010 to 2016 and resigned after the British voted for Brexit in a referendum.
Earlier, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak dismissed Interior Minister Suella Braverman. In her place, the British prime Minister appointed James Cleverley, who previously served as the head of the British Foreign Ministry.
