Nov 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine and Ukrainians need the support of the civilized world to win on the battlefield and bring war criminals to justice, and a waste of time may result into new conflicts in the world, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin said at the Halifax International Security Forum.
“I think and I believe the United States will keep standing with Ukraine for a long time, And not only the United States, but Europe as well will stand with us until Russia is defeated. It is an important certainty Ukrainians want to hear from politicians in the United States and Europe. And I hope that politicians at a certain level will be brave enough to say this out loud to Ukrainians,” he said in a statement the video of which was posted in the Telegram channel of the Prosecutor General’s Office on Monday.
Russia turns time into weapons, Kostin said, adding that “we should use time for our benefit.”
The Prosecutor General also said that Russia must be defeated in this war “so that not a single Russian soldier stay on the Ukrainian land.”
“We have to do everything to make our victory a reality as soon as possible and make sure that everyone who committed these crimes are brought to justice. These two elements will help to prevent new conflicts and wars… If we waste time waiting for assistance, then we will see new conflicts in the other parts of the world. I hope the civilized world possesses sufficient resources to help us win in the war unleashed by Russia,” he said.
