KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to prepare a comprehensive mobilization plan.
“You know how complex the issues of mobilization are and very relevant: Territorial Recruiting Centers, military medical commissions, mobilization, demobilization. A complex task has been set. Today there was a comprehensive report on how to solve this issue, what to do, what legislative changes [are needed], who should do this – this whole plan will be worked out and all the answers will be provided. Next week I will see this plan,” he said at a press conference with the President of Latvia in Kyiv.
As Zelenskyy emphasized, he would like “people to understand the whole plan of action – where we are going, what the challenges are, so that people can see all this.”
“In mobilization, it is very important that we leave point A and understand where we are going – to point B. We must know where we must go and with what forces. Therefore, a comprehensive plan on this issue will be next week. At least, this task has been assigned to Zaluzhny, Umerov, and Shmyhal, because there are also economic issues. They will all report comprehensively next week,” the head of state said.
