Umerov to participants of IT coalition: Technology to win war

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Under the chairmanship of Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, a meeting was held in Kyiv with military attaches within the IT coalition.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, representatives of more than 30 member countries of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took part in the event.

“Technology will win the war. The Russians can mobilize millions for meat assaults, and their factories beyond the Urals work in three shifts. But our advantage will be provided by asymmetric responses and they are possible thanks to innovations that are already working. We invent technologies, test them, and scale them. And with your help, we will be able to do this faster and more,” the minister addressed the event participants.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Defense Kateryna Chernohorenko noted that the IT coalition initiative is designed to provide the necessary digital foundation to support the deployment of any new technological solutions.

“Ukraine has actually already become a combat platform for testing a number of military solutions. I want to encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The whole world must be ready to use technology in any war. And Ukraine has the opportunity to provide you with this expertise, these capabilities, and these platforms so that you become part of our victory. Victory in the war of technology,” Chernohorenko said.

The IT Coalition is a special group of states within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), led by Estonia and Luxembourg, that focuses on providing support to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the field of IT, communications and cybersecurity. Currently, six states are participants in the initiative (Estonia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania), and Iceland should soon become another member.
