KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Training for educational workers on providing psychological first aid was held at the Youth Center in Chervonohrad (Lviv region).
“The team of Chervonohrad city organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross taught participants in three areas: the concept of psychological first aid (PPA); principles of assistance; skills to properly provide PPA,” the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) reported on Facebook on Tuesday.
URCS noted that children are especially vulnerable to the events they encounter during war, and educational staff must be able to recognize a child’s state of acute stress and know how to act in such a case.
The training, which took place over two days, took place as part of the #EU4Health program with the support of Danish Red Cross in Ukraine and the European Commission. The psychological first aid training project is being implemented in most regions of Ukraine to support the population affected by the war.
