Ukrainian farmers harvest almost 77 mln tonnes of crops in 2023 – Ministry of Agrarian Policy

KYIV. Dec 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the end of November, farmers from all regions of Ukraine threshed 76.97 million tonnes of grain and oilseeds: 56.25 million tonnes and 20.72 million tonnes, respectively.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the harvest of grain and leguminous crops was carried out on an area of 10.4 million hectares with a yield of 54.3 c/ha.

Compared to the data on the same date a year ago, the total harvest is higher by 31.4%, or 18.37 million tonnes, including grains – by 34.3%, or 14.35 million tonnes, and oilseeds – by 24.1%, or 4.02 million tonnes. At the same time, it should be taken into account that this year, to date, corn has been harvested from almost 85% of the area, whereas a year ago only from 60%.

It is indicated that five regions of Ukraine have already completed the harvest. These are farmers from Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv regions. The leaders in grain threshing are the farmers of Vinnytsia region: they collected more than 5 million tonnes of grain. In Poltava and Cherkasy regions, agricultural producers threshed 4 million tonnes of grain each.

In addition, 11.33 million tonnes of sugar beets were collected from 242,100 hectares. And although its yield this year, unlike grains and oilseeds, is lower than last year, thanks to the expansion of the area by 39.5%, the harvest is 31.8% higher than last year.
