KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said that Ukraine applied for observer status at the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (PCA), the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
“Ukraine has applied for the status of an associate observer at the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (PCA),” the press service quoted Kuleba as saying.
The Minister noted that common values based on the principles of the UN Charter and respect for linguistic and cultural diversity provide the necessary tools for the development of cooperation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the PCA is an international organization uniting nine countries in which Portuguese is the official state language (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Principe).
“Ukraine is interested in establishing cooperation in the economic, social and cultural spheres with the member states of the organization,” Kuleba stressed.
