KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Latvia supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, Foreign Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš has said at a meeting with Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk.
“Latvia supports Ukraine’s accession to the EU and will continue to relentlessly stand for the European integration of Ukraine. We are fighting for us as well, we will stand together with you until Victory,” Kondratiuk quoted Kariņš as saying on Facebook on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Latvian minister emphasized that “Ukraine has fulfilled all conditions for a decision on the launch of accession talks be made at a meeting of the European Council.”
Kariņš also said that Latvia has three main blocks of support for Ukraine on agenda: support for military potential, financial assistance, and advocacy for EU accession.
As reported, Kondratiuk is on a working visit to Latvia.
