Oschadbank agrees to restructure loan to Ukrenergo to reduce burden on its electricity transmission tariff – dpty chairman

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – State-owned Oschadbank has agreed to restructure the loan issued to NPC Ukrenergo in order to reduce the load on the system operator’s tariff for electricity transmission, deputy head of the bank’s board responsible for corporate business Yuriy Katsion has said.

“Understanding the burden on the budget and on the Ukrenergo tariff, we met halfway and actually postponed part of next year’s payments – both interest and the loan body – to future periods,” he said in a comment to Energy Reform on the sidelines of the Energy Security Dialogue 2023 by DiXI Group in Kyiv on Tuesday.

“Relatively speaking, we have extended what they must pay in 2024 to 2024 and 2025. The main criterion is that the loan does not create an unnecessary burden, which will then force the NEURC to sharply increase the transmission tariff,” Katsion added.

As reported, on the sidelines of the same forum, head of the board of NPC Ukreenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky, in a comment to Energy Reform, noted that the company was completing the process of agreements with state banks on the restructuring of loans, and most likely they would be successful.

However, he has not yet specified details regarding the agreements.
