KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk discussed with Deputy Speakers of the Polish Sejm Dorota Niedziela and Monika Velickovska Ukraine’s support for joining the European Union.
According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada office, during the meeting in Poland, the interlocutors also touched upon such topics as humanitarian assistance, coordination of information on the return of Ukrainian children deported by the Russian Federation.
Kondratiuk stressed that this is the first meeting with Polish parliamentarians after the election of a new Polish government headed by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and it is important that this takes place during the crucial days for Ukraine related to the issue of opening negotiations on EU accession.
“I am confident in our mutual respect and fruitful cooperation at the parliamentary level and in the work of the Ukraine-Poland Parliamentary Assembly, which I head from the Verkhovna Rada! I wished my colleagues success in their parliamentary work! There is already a workplan!” Kondratiuk noted after the meeting.
Kondratiuk is paying a working visit to Poland.
