KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the capital received modern children’s rehabilitation equipment worth more than UAH 10 million from the Warsaw City Hall as humanitarian aid, according to the website of Kyiv City State Administration on Thursday.
“In January of this year, Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski visited Kyiv City Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities and offered to help purchase the necessary equipment. Kyiv has already received modern children’s rehabilitation equipment from the Warsaw City Hall as humanitarian aid, the total cost of which was more than UAH 10 million,” Klitschko said.
He noted that the Ukrainian capital continues to develop a modern rehabilitation system for children with disabilities and thanked the Polish side for the very important assistance and systemic support. “Unfortunately, during the full-scale war, the number of children with disabilities in Kyiv increased by 2,500. As of January 2022, there were just over 12,000 such children, today there are more than 14,500,” Klitschko said.
Modern children’s rehabilitation equipment included cabins with a training ladder and equipment, rehabilitation tables with electrical height adjustment, dynamic and static verticalizers, standing frames for children, a device for learning to walk with dynamic unloading and an electric treadmill, a multifunctional table for manual therapy of the hands, an interactive floor and so on.
As noted in the message, this equipment will be installed at the Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Social Services for Children and Persons with Disabilities in Podil District, and work on mechanical support for walking will be installed at Kyiv City Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities.
