Every day, Russia able to recruit 1,000-1,200 people into army, there’s no urgent need for general mobilization there now – GUR

KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Every day, the Russian Federation is able to recruit 1,000-1,200 people into its armed forces, now the aggressor can replenish losses and, if possible, maintain operational reserves without conducting a second wave of mobilization, said Vadym Skybytsky, Deputy head of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“We have confirmed intelligence information that every day the Russian Federation is able to recruit, according to various estimates and in different ways, about 1,000-1,200 people into the armed forces of the Russian Federation – recruitment, mobilization. It’s daily. If we talk about where they are going, then most of them are going to replenish losses,” Skybytsky said at the NV event “Ukraine and the World ahead 2024.”

According to him, the Russians are trying to keep the staffing level of their group, combat units on the line of contact at 92-95% in order to maintain the pace of the offensive.

“Unfortunately, the mobilization resource is big, both trained, prepared. And today, the Russian Federation is coping without conducting a powerful second wave of mobilization in order to replenish its losses and, if possible, maintain operational reserves that are deployed in our temporarily occupied territories,” the GUR stressed.

Skybytsky noted that there is currently no urgent need for general mobilization in the Russian Federation.

“One of the factors for this is probably the preparation for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation. Putin does not want the mobilization process to affect the so-called election campaign. Despite everything, the protest potential, the protest mood in the Russian Federation is growing in terms of mobilization,” he said.

The intelligence service clarified that at the beginning of this year it was noted that 60% of the population of the Russian Federation opposed mobilization coercive measures, and now – 69%. Skybytsky added that this does not indicate that there will be protests in the Russian Federation, but such sentiments already exist in society.
