KYIV. Dec 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A citizen of Cyprus, Vadim Yermolaev, the owner of the corporation of the multidisciplinary Alef corporation of 18 enterprises, whose assets before the war were estimated by Forbes Ukraine at $220 million, is included in the Ukrainian sanction list.
According to Presidential Decree No. 850 of December 23, in particular, its assets are blocked for 10 years, licenses and other permits are canceled or stopped, participation in privatization and purchase of land plots is prohibited, and fulfillment of economic and financial obligations is stopped.
Alef-Vinal-Crimea LLC is also on the list of legal entities that have been sanctioned.
Among the main assets of Alef Corporation, according to the information posted on the website, are UDK Gazbeton, manufacturers of PVC profile Miroplast and window and door fittings Axor Industry, exporter of apples the Dnipro Gardens (Sady Dnipra) and Agroalliance, ALEF Estate, Oil Extraction plant Potoky, manufacturer of medical products ABM Technology, manufacturer of pipes Oscar Production Group, and the manufacturer of concrete Elba.
The corporation and Yermolaev himself have not yet publicly commented on the imposition of sanctions.
By another decree No. 851 of the same day, sanctions were imposed, in particular, against a British citizen Leonid (Lena) Blavatnik, an ex-partner of Russian businessmen Viktor Vekselberg and Oleg Deripaska, founder and head of the board of directors of the holding company and investment firm Acces Industries, which estimates its diversified portfolio of investments worldwide at more than $35 billion. In particular, she is the majority owner of Warner Music Group. LyondelBassel is among other assets of the DAZN Group.
This list also includes Vyacheslav Yutkin, a citizen of Ukraine, who until 2016 was the first deputy head of the board of Prominvestbank, the Ukrainian “daughter” of the Russian VEB, who invested in Ukrainian real estate.
As of May 2018, he was the owner of the Hlibovka country hotel near Kyiv, the Yaremche Club Boutique Hotel (Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region), the Puscha Congress Hotel (Puscha Vodytsia, Kyiv region) and the five-star boutique hotel Bank Hotel Congress Hall Art Butik (Lviv).
