About 70 Norwegian instructors train Ukrainian military in UK – Ministry of Defense

KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – About 70 Norwegian instructors are training the Ukrainian military in the UK, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.

"Norwegian instructors continue to train the Ukrainian military in the UK. The Ukrainian military is being trained by about 70 Norwegian instructors originating from the so-called Rapid Reaction Force, from the mechanized Telemark battalion of the Nord Brigade of the Land Forces of the Norwegian Armed Forces," the Defense Ministry said on Telegram on Tuesday.

It is noted that the entire Norwegian component and Norwegian efforts, which are part of a larger operation called Interflex and undertaken on the British initiative, are led by the Norwegian National Guard.

"The goal is to strengthen the stability of the Ukrainian defense and contribute to the development of the armed forces. This fall, 10,000 military personnel will be trained. Next year it is planned to train another 19,000. Then instructors from the Norwegian National Guard will also take over the Norwegian part of the training," the Defense Ministry explained.
