KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – French President Emmanuel Macron, during a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, agreed to hold an international conference on assistance to Ukraine in the coming winter in Paris on December 13, the Elysee Palace said on Tuesday.
"The President of the Republic also expressed his determination to help Ukraine survive with the onset of winter, while Russian attacks have significantly damaged the infrastructure of electricity and water supply in the country. He indicated that France would strengthen its support in this and take part in international mobilization (assistance). The two presidents agreed to organize an international conference in Paris on December 13 in support of the country’s civil sustainability during the winter period," the presidential office said in a communique.
It is noted that for this purpose "preparatory work with other partners of Ukraine will begin in the near future."
In addition, Macaron and Zelensky also agreed on the organization of a bilateral conference aimed at helping Ukraine from French companies, which will be held on December 12.
"The two presidents discussed the suspension of the Russian Federation’s implementation of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain by sea corridor. The Head of State condemned Russia’s unilateral decision, which once again damages world food security," the Elysee Palace reports.
The leaders also discussed the situation at the Zaporizhia NPP, where the pressure of the Russian army on Ukrainian personnel further jeopardizes the safety of the plant.
"Regarding Russia’s false claims about the preparation of a dirty bomb, the President of the Republic welcomed the exemplary transparency of Ukraine, which immediately allowed the IAEA mission to arrive at the site to demonstrate that Ukraine fully complies with its safeguards agreement and the removal of unfounded accusations," the document says.
