KYIV. Nov 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Maliuk and the ambassadors of the Big Seven (G7) countries discussed the security challenges that Ukraine faced after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the SBU said on its website on Thursday.
At the meeting in Kyiv, the G7 was represented by Ambassadors Anka Feldhusen (Germany), Melinda Simmons (Great Britain), Etienne de Poncins (France), Pier Francesco Zazo (Italy), Kuninori Matsuda (Japan), as well as Attorneys for Ambassadors Ashley Mulroney (Canada) and Christopher Smith (USA). They expressed support for Ukraine and its citizens, assuring of further assistance from their countries.
"Our countries will continue to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian armed aggression. We are also open to further discussions on the issue of supporting reforms in Ukraine, including those related to legislative initiatives to strengthen the capabilities of the SBU," Feldhusen stressed.
Maliuk told about the changes in the approaches to work and self-cleaning of the SBU from "moles" and traitors who worked for the special services of the Russian Federation.
The head of the SBU thanked the ambassadors for the assistance provided to Ukraine by their states. "I am grateful that the position of the international community has been consolidated – Russia must answer for all the murders, destruction and terrorism," Maliuk stressed.
