Rada vests right in Cabinet to determine dates of start, end of temporary occupation

KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has allowed the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to determine the date of the beginning and end of the temporary occupation.

In general, 312 deputies voted for relevant bill No. 8088 on amendments to the law "On ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens and the legal regime in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine" at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, parliamentarian Yaroslav Zhelezniak (Holos faction) said on Telegram.

The bill also empowers the Cabinet of Ministers to determine, change and cancel the legal regime of the temporarily occupied territory during the martial law in Ukraine.

A separate provision of the draft law provides that temporary border control may be introduced at the administrative border between the temporarily occupied territory and another territory of Ukraine by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
