Three explosives experts of National Police killed during mine clearance, nine sappers injured since start of war – Klymenko

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 14,000 hectares have been cleared of enemy shells and mines, three explosives experts of the National Police were killed, nine more were injured, head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has said.

"Demining of territories is a long and painstaking process. But vital … Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the National Police team has lost three wonderful specialists who died while clearing de-occupied territories," Klymenko wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

According to him, head of the explosive service of the police of Rivne region Oleksandr Mamchur, head of the explosive service of the police of Kherson region Oleksandr Koziura and senior inspector of the Department of the explosive service of the National Police Dmytro Ryvak were killed.

Klymenko said that nine more sappers of the National Police received various injuries during the clearance of territories.

"Thanks to the brave work of police explosives experts, 14,000 hectares of Ukrainian land have already been cleared of Russian shells and mines. Some 141,000 explosive objects of various types were seized. More than 45,000 Russian carriers of death have been destroyed," the head of the National Police said.
