More than 288,000 people evacuated from areas close to combat zones during three months – Tymoshenko

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over the past three months, more than 288,000 people have been evacuated from the territories adjacent to the combat zones, Deputy head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"Some 60,000 of them are children and 7,500 are people with disabilities," he said.

"As of today, 1 million places for temporary residence of internally displaced persons are equipped on the territory of 15 regions," Tymoshenko also said. According to him, the largest number of vacant seats are in Rivne (37,000), Zakarpattia (more than 15,000), Odesa (18,690), Zhytomyr (more than 28,000), Khmelnytsky (more than 17,000) regions.

"The largest number of occupied places (about 100%) is in Vinnytsia, Poltava, Lviv and Kirovohrad regions.

According to Tymoshenko, a total of 74 attacks were recorded in Zaporizhia region during the day, 58 of which were on civilian infrastructure facilities.

"In several regions, measures are continuing to eliminate the consequences of terrorist attacks by Russia on energy facilities. Due to the cold snap, electricity consumption is increasing, which leads to an increase in the load on equipment and a shortage of electricity in the power system," he said.

According to him. in Kharkiv region , work continues to restore energy supplies in the occupied settlements . During the day, energy supplies were restored to 500 subscribers of Kupyansky district, gas – to more than 600 subscribers of Kharkiv district.
