UNGA adopts resolution on creation of mechanism to compensate Ukraine for damage caused by Russian aggressors

KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Monday, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution on the need to hold Russia accountable for its violation of international law during the invasion of Ukraine, as well as the creation of a mechanism to compensate Ukraine for the damage caused by Russian aggressors.

The adoption of the document was supported by 94 countries, 73 abstained, and another 14 opposed.

In particular, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Syria, Iran, Zimbabwe, Cuba, China, Eritrea, Mali, the Central African Republic are among the States that voted against the resolution.
