Govt provides UAH 541 mln to ensure broadcasting of Ukrainian TV

KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday adopted two resolutions providing an additional UAH 541 million in funding to ensure the broadcasting of Ukrainian television, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection has reported.

According to its press release, in particular, for the resumption of digital television and radio broadcasting in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Kherson regions in the T2 format, the Radio Broadcasting, Radio Communication and Television Concern was given an additional UAH 410 million on a non-refundable basis from the reserve fund.

By another resolution, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 131.4 million from the reserve fund to ensure the continuous operation of digital broadcasting facilities and the uninterrupted broadcast of television channels in the MX-1, MX-2, MX-3 and MX-5 multiplexes, as well as for continuous monitoring of the on-air network and equipment of the main multiplexing stations, satellite and terrestrial communication channels.

The State Service for Special Communications and Communications reminded that one of the Ukrainian channels broadcasting a unified news marathon is available on Channel 31 in T2 digital format in Kherson and the surrounding settlements.

Also, thanks to the specialists of the Concern, residents of Kherson region can listen in the FM band to the First Channel of Ukrainian radio at a frequency of 92.0 MHz. The signal strength is sufficient to receive it even in certain areas of the occupied part of Kherson region, the authority said.
