US intelligence confirms fall of Russian missiles in Poland, death of two people – media

KYIV. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A senior U.S. intelligence official said Russian missiles crossed the border of Poland, a NATO member, and fell on its territory, killing two people, Associated Press (AP) said on Tuesday.

As reported earlier, the Polish Radio ZET said that allegedly two stray rockets fell in the area of Przewodov in Lublin Voivodeship on the border with Ukraine, hit the grain dryers and killed two people. The report emphasizes that the information is unconfirmed, but the police, the prosecutor’s office and the army are allegedly already working at the scene.

After that, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki convened an urgent meeting of the Government’s Security and Defense Committee. Government spokesman Petr Müller said: "Any information that is presented to the Committee will then be circulated as widely as possible to the public. We urge you not to publish unconfirmed information until then."

A number of Polish media suggested that the convocation of the Polish Security Council may be associated with a massive rocket attack on Ukraine on Tuesday by Russia.
