NATO, G7 promise to help Poland investigate explosion near border with Ukraine

WASHINGTON. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – NATO and Group of Seven countries on Wednesday pledged to help Warsaw investigate the explosion that occurred in eastern Poland near the border with Ukraine.

"We discussed the explosion that took place in the eastern part of Poland near the border with Ukraine. We offer our full support for and assistance with Poland’s ongoing investigation. We agree to remain in close touch to determine appropriate next steps as the investigation proceeds," NATO and the G7 said in a statement released on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

The sides also reaffirmed their support for Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that the Russian Armed Forces had not delivered any strikes on targets near the Ukrainian-Polish border.
