Ukraine to receive EUR 2.5 bln tranche next week, another EUR 500 mln in Dec – Dombrovskis

BRUSSELS. Nov 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine will receive a tranche of EUR 2.5 billion from the EU next week, and another EUR 500 million in December, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis has said.

Dombrovskis said in Brussels on Wednesday, answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine, that they had already paid EUR 3 billion. Another EUR 2.5 billion will be next week and another EUR 500 million will be in December.

Remaining EUR 3 billion of the EUR 9 billion macro-financial assistance program for 2022 will be included in a proposed EUR 18 billion loan package for Ukraine next year, he said.

As for remaining EUR 3 billion, decisions this year were made on an ad hoc basis, and, accordingly, the flow of funding was not completely predictable. Therefore, in a sense, they were included in our proposal for EUR 18 billion, Dombrovskis said.

He clarified that this was due to the size of the aid package, as an aid package of less than EUR 18 billion was initially discussed.
