Zelensky receives signals from Western partners about Putin's desire for direct talks with Ukraine

KYIV. Oct 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had received signals from Western partners about Vladimir Putin’s desire for direct talks with Ukraine.

"I have got the signals that Putin wants direct negotiations. I used to receive such signals. I proposed a public form because Russia is waging a public war," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He also confirmed Tuesday’s meeting with CIA Director William Burns. "Burns was in a bomb shelter yesterday. And then we talked to him. We discussed all the important issues for us. We know each other. He is on the side of Ukraine," Zelensky said.
