By KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Multiplex has restored operation of three of the seven cinemas affected by the aggression of the Russian Federation, CEO of Multiplex holding Roman Romanchuk told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Seven of our cinemas were damaged in rocket attacks: in Mariupol, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Odesa, Kyiv and two in Kharkiv. We have already restored three cinemas and resumed film demonstrations: in the Kyiv’s Retroville in the summer, today [November 18] in Kharkiv’s Nikolsky shopping and entertainment center and Odesa’s Riviera mall," Romanchuk said.
According to him, the restoration of all cinemas will require at least $20 million.
"Some of the cinemas have been completely destroyed: in Zaporizhia and Mariupol. In Kherson, part of the Fabrika shopping center, where our cinema is located, suffered less damage, restoration is theoretically possible there, but our experts have not yet been in place. In Kharkiv’s Dafi mall the resumption of film demonstrations is possible from a technical point of view, but not from a security point of view at this stage," Romanchuk said.
Multiplex-Holding was founded in 2003. According to the data on the official website, as of November 2021, the network had 26 cinemas.
