Shmyhal: every Ukrainian can import generators, charging stations into country without paying duties, VAT

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says that every Ukrainian can import the necessary generators and charging stations into the country without paying duties and VAT.

"One of the areas of our preparation is the import of as many energy-generating assets as possible. The government previously decided to exempt goods that improve energy supply from paying VAT and import duties," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.

According to him, on November 17 alone, according to customs data, 8,577 generator sets were delivered to Ukraine.

"But we had complaints about the difficulties in importing them by individuals. Allegedly, the government’s decision does not apply to individuals. This is not so. Every Ukrainian can import the generators and charging stations they need into the country without paying duties and VAT," the prime minister stressed.

In this connection, the government adopted a protocol decision to ensure unhindered customs clearance of these goods for individuals.

"If someone at customs interferes, I urge you to immediately contact the SBU hotline," Shmyhal said.
