France hands over Crotale air defense systems and LRU MLRS to Ukraine – Defense Minister

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian military received two Crotale anti-aircraft missile systems to protect the sky and two LRU multiple rocket launchers from France, Head of the country’s defense department Sebastian Lecornu saidin an interview with Le Journal du Dimanche, which is quoted by BFMTV.

The French defense minister also said Paris had transferred to Kyiv the already well-known Caesar installations, as well as Milan and Mistral missiles, about 60 VAB armored personnel carriers, night vision devices, anti-tank mines and means of protection against nuclear, bacteriological and chemical threats.

According to Lecornu, the Ukrainian government recently requested radar stations from Paris, and France is currently considering the request.

In addition, France plans to train up to 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers, as well as help other European states to repair and restore military equipment for the Ukrainian Defense Forces at a logistics center in Slovakia.

Crotale is a French short-range anti-aircraft missile system designed to deal with air targets at medium, low and extremely low altitudes. It is mainly used as a means of air defense for strategically important objects, important strongholds, control centers, etc. It can also be used to directly cover units in combat.

The LRU M270 multiple launch rocket system is a French upgraded analogue of HIMARS on a tracked platform.
