Macron: Everything must be done to preserve safety at ZNPP

KYIV. Nov 22 (Interfax-Ukraine) – French President Emmanuel Macron has stated the need to do everything to preserve safety at the Zaporizhia NPP.

"After the new shots at the Zaporizhia NPP, I repeat: everything must be done to preserve the safety and security of the stations. We talked about this today with President Zelensky. We will continue our efforts," Macron said on Twitter on Tuesday night.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky informed about his telephone conversation with Macron. In particular, on Monday the parties discussed the demilitarization of the Zaporizhia NPP occupied by the Russian Federation and issues of ensuring the energy stability of Ukraine.

Later, the IAEA experts, following the results of the inspection of the Zaporizhia NPP (ZNPP) after the recent shelling, did not register a direct threat to nuclear safety, according to the statement of head of the IAEA Rafael Grossi.

Earlier on Monday, Energoatom reported that on the morning of November 20, as a result of numerous Russian attacks, at least 12 "arrivals" were recorded at the site of the Zaporizhia NPP, which damaged exactly the equipment, the failure of which makes it impossible to take any further actions to launch the power units of the NPP.
