Heads of Naftogaz and Halliburton discuss strategic cooperation, attracting investors to Ukraine

KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Oleksiy Chernyshov, the head of Naftogaz Ukrainy, and Joe Rainey, the president of the American oilfield services company Halliburton, have discussed strategic cooperation, as well as attracting new investors and partners for the joint development and operation of fields in Ukraine.

"His personal visit to Kyiv is a powerful signal for the entire market and the world, which we greatly appreciate. Despite the war, we must look to the future and develop our strategic cooperation," the head of Naftogaz said on Facebook.

According to him, the president of Halliburton assured him of the company’s strong and consistent support for Ukraine.

"Special thanks to our partners for the fact that they stopped their activities in Russia, despite significant financial losses. Together we will win!" Chernyshov added.

As reported, Halliburton announced the curtailing of business in Russia in March 2022. In July, it was reported that Halliburton had written off $344 million in the second quarter as a result of winding down business in that country, and in September the oilfield services company announced that it had closed a deal to sell its Russian subsidiary to a local management team.
