Ukrainian servicemen injured in traffic accident in Lithuania

KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian Embassies in Latvia and Estonia are providing the necessary support to Ukrainians injured in a traffic accident on the evening of November 26, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko has said.

"The embassies of Ukraine in Latvia and Estonia take care of Ukrainians who got into an accident. They receive the necessary medical care, there are no life threats. Diplomats also interact with law enforcement officers to find out the causes of the accident. The preliminary version is bad weather," Nikolenko said on Twitter.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces reported a serious accident on the Via Baltica highway near the Latvian city of Ainaž, not far from the Estonian border. It is noted that as a result of the incident, the driver of the bus carrying out the transportation of passengers by order of the Defense Forces died.

"One soldier of the Estonian defense was injured in the accident, he was taken to the hospital for examination. The rest of the passengers injured in the accident are servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and another bus driver from Estonia," the agency said.

According to the Estonian edition of ERR, a total of 26 people were injured in the accident, three of them in serious condition.
