Occupiers damage Mykolaivvodokanal's pumping station, water to be supplied to Mykolaiv from Buh estuary – mayor

KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Water intake for Mykolaiv will be temporarily carried out from the Buh estuary after the damage caused by the Russian occupation forces to the recently repaired pumping station of the Mykolaivvodokanal municipal enterprise, Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych has said.

"Dear friends, unfortunately, I have bad news. During missile attacks, the Russian terrorists damaged the pumping station of the Mykolaivvodokanal municipal enterprise, located in Kherson region. Therefore, for an indefinite period of time, we will have to supply technical water to the city from the Buh estuary," he said on the Telegram channel on Sunday, November 27.

The mayor recalled that the water supply was restored just a week after the de-occupation of Kherson and other temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

"But we are facing real terrorists, who are powerless against our military, and therefore fighting with the civilian population. What’s next? We continue to repair the networks that are destroyed by salt water. As soon as the security situation allows, we will promptly restore the pumping station and return drinking water to Mykolaiv," Senkevych said.
