By KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine is in favor of urgent legalization of virtual assets in Ukraine.
"We urgently need to finish the task that we have started to do: legalization of virtual assets in Ukraine. We adopted the basic law on virtual assets, which was a driver of the legislative process. Now we need to pass a tax bill to legalize this direction, because Ukraine can get a new sector of the economy and additional tax revenues," Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
He noted that according to leading blockchain analytical companies, Ukraine is among the world leaders in the use of cryptocurrencies.
"But for the crypto industry development in the legal field, everything necessary to legalize it must be done. For us, this is now a rather sensitive issue: both in terms of tax revenues to the budget and in terms of the trust of other countries. We are for legalization of this progressive technological sector so that business can develop, the state can develop the digital economy and receive taxes," the Minister of Digital Transformation emphasized.
