Moldovan president leaves for visits to Japan, U.S

CHISINAU. Nov 30 (Interfax) – Moldovan President Maia Sandu has departed for an official visit to Japan, after which she is also to visit the United States.

Sandu’s visit to Tokyo will take place on December 1-3, the presidential press service said.

"The head of state will meet with high-ranking Japanese government officials and members of parliament. The president will also take part in a conference of the World Assembly for Women (WAW)," it said.

Following her visit to Japan, Sandu will travel from Tokyo to Washington.

"From December 5 to 7, Maia Sandu will be in Washington, where she will take part in the International Anti-Corruption Conference as part of the Summit for Democracy," the press service said.

Sandu will also have a number of bilateral meetings and will meet with members of the Moldovan diaspora in the U.S.
