Ukraine receives another $1.5 bln grant from USA through World Bank – Ministry of Finance

KYIV. Dec 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has received another $1.5 billion grant from the United States from the World Bank Trust Fund, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance announced on Friday.

"This is the first tranche of grant funds of $4.5 billion, which were provided by the United States of America through the Trust Fund of the World Bank as part of the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance in Ukraine (PEACE)," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Finance said that the grant funds will be directed to pension payments and programs of state social assistance, such as payment of housing and communal services, support of low-income families, disabled children, IDPs, payment of medical services under the medical guarantee program, etc.

As reported, including this grant, since the beginning of the war the United States has committed $10 billion through the World Bank and all in the form of grants. Another $3 billion is expected by the end of the year.
