Ukrainian MFA spokesperson: If Hungary wants to move towards peace so much, they can start by calling on Russia to stop war

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – If Hungary wants to move towards peace so much, then they can start by calling on Russia to stop the war against Ukraine, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Nikolenko said, commenting on the words of the State Secretary of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry that Budapest would not train the Ukrainian military.

"State Secretary of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry: Some European countries train the Ukrainian military. In Hungary, no. We said no. We want to move not towards war, but towards peace. If Hungary wants to move towards peace that way, then we can start by calling on Russia stop the war. Judging by so many meetings with Russian representatives, the opportunity for such a step should have already been found," he said on Facebook.

Earlier, State Secretary of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Tomasz Menzer said there would be no exercises of the Ukrainian military in Hungary, because Budapest wants to "move towards peace, not towards war."

"Ukrainian soldiers are training in some European countries. They won’t be in Hungary. We say no to this. We want to move towards peace, not war," he said on Facebook.
