Cabinet updates format of list of temporarily occupied territories, combat areas

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has updated the format of the list of temporarily occupied territories and combat areas.

"Today, at a government meeting, a resolution has been adopted that defines the mechanism for forming a single list of territories where military operations are being conducted or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation. Now the only source of information about such territories is the order of the Ministry of Reintegration, approved by the Ministry of Defense and formed on the basis of proposals from regional military administrations," the ministry’s press service said.

The ministry believes that the updated format of the list will ensure the unity of administrative practice and the integrity of state policy.

"The new list provides for two gradations of warfare in the territory: active and possible. It also contains a separate list of occupied territories. A column with the date of the beginning and end of hostilities and temporary occupation has been added," the message says.

It is noted that the new list will be scaled to the level of individual settlements, and not communities, as it is now.

"Such a principle of forming a list will make it possible to solve the issue of updating access to registries more effectively. And it will also give flexibility in determining whether a certain territory belongs to the temporarily occupied or not," the Ministry of Reintegration says.
