HACC arrests ex-MP Hranovsky who controlled officials of Odesa City Council with alternative of bail

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has arrested with an alternative bail of UAH 124 million former MP Oleksandr Hranovsky, suspected of creating a criminal organization that controlled officials of the Odesa City Council.

"On December 8, 2022, at the request of the NABU detectives, approved by the SAPO prosecutor, the investigating judge of the HACC chose a custody status of detention with the alternative of making a UAH 124 million bail for the former MP, another organizer of a criminal organization that kept city council officials, the budget expenditures of the city, the activities of local utilities under control and committed other corruption crimes," the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) said in its Telegram channel on Thursday.

According to the SAPO, if a bail is paid, the ex-deputy will have the following obligations: to arrive at every request to a detective, prosecutor or court, not to leave Odesa without the permission of a detective, prosecutor or court, to deposit a passport (passports) to travel abroad with the competent authorities, wear an ankle monitor.

The SAPO report does not indicate the name of the suspected former MP. It is Oleksandr Hranovsky.
