Zelensky thanks Slovakia for supporting Ukrainian migrants, supporting Ukraine on way to EU

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, at a meeting in Kyiv with Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacer, thanked him, the Slovak government and the president for receiving and supporting more than 100,000 Ukrainian immigrants, as well as assisting Ukraine in obtaining the status of a candidate state in the EU.

"We are grateful to you for supporting our temporarily displaced people, of whom you now have more than 100,000. We are also grateful to you from the point of view of diplomacy for supporting us on the way to the EU without hesitation – in terms of granting Ukraine the status of a candidate state for EU membership," Zelensky said.

He also expressed gratitude to Slovakia for providing support to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

"I thank President of Slovakia Zuzana Caputova and convey to her a warm greeting, the Prime Minister and the entire Cabinet of Ministers who have been and are with us," the President added.
