Kuleba: Russia still wants to conquer whole of Ukraine, now they don't want peace, but pause in aggression

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian Federation still wants to conquer the whole of Ukraine, no one should be deceived by the empty statements of the Russian side about the alleged readiness for negotiations, said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

"One important topic that I want to touch on today is the path to peace. From time to time, Russian officials make empty statements that they are supposedly ready for negotiations. No one should be deceived. Russia has not changed its ultimatum and still wants to conquer the whole of Ukraine. What they want right now is not peace, but a pause in aggression to continue it later. We will not play this game," Kuleba said at an online briefing for foreign media on Tuesday.

The Minister assured that "Ukraine wants peace like no other nation, but real peace, not another postponed war."

"In fact, none of our international partners is interested in this," Kuleba said.

As the Foreign Minister stressed, that is why the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, proposed a "formula for peace" of 10 steps.

"We call on all states to support President Zelensky’s peaceful formula. Each nation can choose the elements of the formula and work together with Ukraine on their implementation," he said.

He also added that "we plan to involve not only European countries" so that the "formula of peace" becomes a universal, not only Western, vision of the world.
