EUR 450 mln announced conference in Paris to be spent to help Ukrainian energy sector – French FM

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At the international conference of solidarity with the people of Ukraine in Paris, assistance in the amount of about $1 billion was announced, of which EUR 450 million will be spent to energy and EUR 25 million to water supply, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has said.

"The assistance we have announced today reaches EUR 800 million … I am glad to announce that the figure will be higher, we are approaching EUR 1 billion. Today, experts will still recalculate all the announcements and statements. There are approximately EUR 1 billion. I want to emphasize separately that these are new promises, thanks to the holding of this conference," said Colonna at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal in Paris.

The minister stressed that these are not loans, but donations and emergency assistance so that Ukraine can survive the winter.

In particular, of this EUR 1 billion, EUR 450 million will be spent on energy, EUR 25 million on water supply, EUR 38 million on food, EUR 17 million on healthcare, EUR 22 million on transport, approximately EUR 93 million have not yet been determined for which areas.

"You can see how ambitious our conference is, we demonstrate solidarity with the Ukrainian people," said Colonna.
