Germany to provide EUR 50 mln of assistance for winter period for Ukraine – FM

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, at the international conference of solidarity with the people of Ukraine in Paris, has said that Germany will allocate EUR 50 million of assistance for the winter period for Ukraine.

"Germany has promised today another EUR 50 million of assistance for the winter period for Ukraine. Putin wants to break Ukrainians with his freezing tactics. We will not allow this," the German Embassy in Ukraine quoted Baerbock on Twitter as saying.

She noted that the assistance will be directed, in particular, to generators and transformers.

"Putin’s bombs mean that doctors have to operate on the boy’s heart in the light of mobile phones. Children do their homework wearing hats, scarves and jackets by candlelight. Therefore, we are mobilizing assistance for survival, in particular, generators and transformers," the Foreign Minister stressed.
