Ukraine receives EUR 100 mln preferential loan from France

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine received a EUR 100 million loan on concessional terms from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the funds were directed to the general fund of the state budget to finance priority expenditures, in particular social and humanitarian ones, the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance announced on Tuesday.

"We appreciate France’s contribution to maintaining the stability of Ukraine’s financial system, as well as its willingness to support our state in a face of russian aggression," Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko is quoted in the press release as saying.

As the Ministry of Finance said, The loan is provided on concessional terms: the interest rate is 1.04% per annum, and the final repayment of the loan is carried out 15 years from the date of the loan agreement (taking into account the grace period for deferring loan repayment for a period of more than five years from the date of the loan agreement).

The total amount of direct budget support from France since February 24, 2022 reaches $432 million, the ministry added.
